TLA on niche blogs/sites. How's it working out for you?

About a week ago I submitted the question "Text-Link-Ads.com - All about the page rank? clicks? or both?". I had just added the TLA code to one of my most visited sites (a niche site, that's only PR4) and wanted to know what experience other community members had had with TLA. Well I got an error when I tried to submit the post, so the question never actually made it on to Bumpzee.

One week on, I'd thought I'd share my 'limited' experience with other members considering using TLA, and ask the question again.

My experience is that it's ALL about the Page Rank, nothing more, nothing less. My site is only a page rank 4, but it generates 1500 readers per day and 3400 page views per day. Not too shabby, but being a niche site I struggling to get the PR over 4.

I placed the TLA code in a really prominent position, almost guaranteeing quality clicks/visitors for TLA advertisers, but still TLA haven't managed to sell a link.

I contacted TLA Customer Services asking them whether they were selling Page Rank or Actual Clicks? They answered, "both". I also asked whether they used Alexa Rankings to decide the value of links on my site. They answered "We use number of factors to work out the price. Yes, Alexa is used in deciding the price".

I assumed that the TLA code would provide them with some form of metrics to be used in deciding the price of text links on my site, but it seems not.

Well I plan to give them another week, then pull it. What experience have you had with TLA?

I too have a PR 4 site and have the TLA badge on my site. It has been there for months and generated a couple of dozen clicks but no sales. I don't know what the deal is, but I'm probably going to pull it soon too! They won't allow me to display their ads on my site (can't figure out why) either. I don't understand this because I have seen their ads on other PR 4 sites and below!

So there's hope for my PR 4 site yet. I'm guessing that the main obstacle for the people over at TLA is to find an advertiser that wants to be listed on my nice site. Can't be a great number of them.

tbh, I think I'm probably flogging a dead horse as should just pull it now.

Pulled it. Another thing I noticed recently on the 'google webmaster/adsense' site (can't remember which) is a link to "report paid links". That can't be good. Doesn't take much for a competitor to drop you in it.

I run about 15 sites that have TLA (blogs for people I know who aren't technically inclined, mostly) and about half consistently sell ads. One site recently lost all PR and continues to generate about $40/month after TLA's cut, and several others do much better and keep most ad spots full. The ones that do best are very tightly focused, though.
