When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
Holy, that is quite a list of choices... since I don't know the analogies, I will take a stab. I stand confidently like a carrot, but I would venture to say that I might be akin to the coffee bean, smooth, rounded edges so as to let the past roll right off and full of potential energy, firm shell hiding the delicious potential. It might take a while to get through to my core, but it is well worth the effort.
