Hi Lilly! I take it this is the community that you started and that you left me a message about?
My main blog is a little unusual. I'm using an older theme that was never highly used by other bloggers and I customized it with an avatar that looks a bit like me and added some items into my header that represent my life. My site visitors really seem to like the look and feel of my blog ... other than it's slow loading time! Sidebars load first and I can't for the life of me fix it (tried at least 50 times and broke the site each time).

I'll be getting a new theme in a month but I'm going to keep the avatar and some of the images that have sort of "branded" my site.
I like the look of your site. It's very different. I noticed that you don't use categories or archives on it either.

I've had a quick look at the page source for Tricia's Musings (it's a really friendly and warm site). And I think your problem is easily resolved by simply replacing your tables with divs.
A 3-column layout is really easy to create with div and makes for quick loading! The columns should also load simultaneously.

Lily I actually won a contest back in November! for a new theme and it will hopefully finally be done by mid April. That will solve my problems - I hope. My current theme is made up of tables! Ugh. No wonder it takes so long to load and it's so difficult for me (and others) to try to figure out how to get the content to load before the sidebars. I've given up on trying to tinker with the theme ... I'm looking forward to April when I'll have a new theme.
Wow, I like both your blogs. Very user friendly and nice to the eyes. I have quite a few blogs that I have started, they are mainly for marketing, so the themes are wordpress and free. I think my design on the neurotic blog (talesofaneurotic30something.blogspot.com/) is pretty different. Now that I redid it! and it's all personalized:). It's becoming quite graphic heavy, but I just learned how to put pictures on, so that's to be expected at first right? :)
