There is no one single trait that would help one make it to the top. A compassionate, empathetic person who has the capability of understanding the innate potential of an employee, a person who is non-influential, one who provides equal opportunities, analytical, innovative, futuristic pragmatist is what it takes to move from the shoes of a manager to a leader.
