Damn Spammer
It was inevitable.
Last night, someone went through the system and sent emails to many of you. That user has been deactivated.
We were actually quite close to a solution to help prevent this sort of thing, but didn’t quite get it there in time.
I sincerely apologize and we’ll do everything we can to prevent this from happening again.

I mentioned this is a comment on Carsten’s post, but we have put up a protection against people like this guy.
My hope is to discourage that behavior while not getting in the way of legitimate discussion.

yeah, that post has been dumped and he’s been deactivated.
I need to do some additional work to make the recent comments disappear and am just going to do that in the new version that we’ll be launching soon.

Scott, if in my profile I hide my Email and MSN details until I accept people as a contact, then my mail address can’t be farmed from here can it?
Or should I change to a good old GMail account?

that’s right frostie.
Even if you make your info “public” it’ll only be visible to logged in users and tough to spider (but certainly not impossible). Safest thing is to do as you say.
